ABOUT Piano Studio of Maria DeBacco

The Piano Studio of Maria DeBacco in Memphis, TN, offers expert piano lessons for students of all ages and skill levels, from beginners to advanced performers. With 40 years of personal experience in piano performance and two Master's degrees in Piano Performance, I offer private instruction in my home piano studio, at a student's home, or online via Zoom. Lessons include warm-ups, sight-reading, music theory, listening exercises, and performance guidance, adapted to each student's learning style—visual, auditory, or hands-on. Students can explore classical piano training, jazz piano training, gospel piano training, or pop piano training while developing technical skill, musicality, and confidence. Children with no prior experience, adult beginners, teens, seniors, and students with special needs are all welcome. I provide individualized attention to ensure that every student progresses at their own pace.

Beginner piano lessons, intermediate piano lessons, and in-home piano lessons are available to fit a wide variety of schedules, including evenings and weekends, depending on availability. I also offer hybrid instruction, combining in-person and online sessions to provide maximum flexibility and convenience. Advanced students preparing for competitions, auditions, or conservatory training can receive specialized guidance, including accompaniment coaching for singers or instrumentalists. Each lesson is structured to balance fun and professional development, incorporating practice materials, digital tools, apps, YouTube resources, and home assignments to reinforce learning.

Every student has the opportunity to develop their own musical voice in a supportive and engaging environment. I provide recommendations for sheet music, method books, and keyboard options while teaching chord charts and lead sheets for pop and jazz. With recital and performance opportunities, students gain experience playing for an audience and building confidence on stage.
